This project began as so many others after the storms of 2020. The fear and unease with owning a Lake Huron property definitely set in. The customer’s couldn’t get a good nights sleep when feeling the crashing of the waves all night which felt like it was coming through their front windows! After discussing the needs and hopes for their lakefront property, it was apparent that the first goal was to feel secure, our customer’s next goal was to entertain family and their young grandkids, which included double trouble (twins!) which we wanted to keep safe and secure near the water as well as roadside.

We devised a plan to build a 3-tier wall which included; a wooden crib, vinyl wall and secondary splash wall which also included a beachy area for lounging and entertaining near a firepit. We custom built a staircase through the center that entered directly into the lake which included a gate at the top to prevent the grandchildren from entering the lake. A cable railing system was added which served two purposes; to keep anyone from falling into the water, as well as being the least obstructive to your view of the water.

Roadside we added a new concrete driveway with a privacy gate at the entrance , for the primary purpose to again keep those twins in sight and out of the road!

The Duce Project is one of our favorites for many reasons and we couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. We are happy to report that the twins are safe and sound and enjoying their time at the Lakefront property with their Grandparents!
